Nearly 3,000 Environmental Law Violations Identified in Kazakhstan

According to the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 1,105 inspections of business entities were conducted in 2025 to monitor compliance with environmental legislation. As a result, 2,945 violations were identified.
A total of 1,701 orders were issued requiring the elimination of identified violations. In addition, 2,602 administrative fines were imposed for a total amount of KZT 2.38 trillion. Of these, 2,357 fines were paid, totaling KZT 5.06 billion.
In 2025, 33 fines from previous years were collected, amounting to KZT 231.9 million.
Overall, during the 12 months of 2025, a total of 2,414 administrative fines were collected in favor of the state budget, amounting to KZT 6.2 billion.
Furthermore, 12 cases requesting the suspension of business operations were submitted to the courts, six of which were approved by court decisions.
