More than 844 thousand tons of waste were collected in Kazakhstan under the “TazaKazakhstan” initiative in 2025

In 2025, 1,294 environmental activities were held under the “Taza Kazakhstan” initiative, including national and international campaigns. As a result, 844.4 thousand tons of waste were collected.
According to the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, about 6.9 million people took part in the activities, including more than 781 thousand volunteers.
As a result of the activities carried out across the country, 844.4 thousand tons of waste were collected, about 1.1 million hectares of territory were cleaned, and more than 2.9 million trees were planted.
During the cleaning of water bodies, 342 fishing nets were collected and 21 springs were restored.
As part of International Bird Day, 1,982 birdhouses were installed.
It should be recalled that on 31 October 2024, by a resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Concept for the Development of Environmental Culture “Taza Kazakhstan” for 2024–2029 was approved. The document provides for a comprehensive approach to fostering environmental culture through the use of different methods for different population groups. The main areas include environmental thinking and behavior, environmental education, awareness-raising, and information support.
