Тhe Panel Session: Application of Advanced Digital Solutions and AI Technologies for Environmental Issues

On April 24, 2026, as part of the third day of the Regional Ecological Summit in Astana, a thematic panel session was held focusing on the use of modern digital solutions and artificial intelligence technologies in the environmental sector.
The session was organized by the RSE “Information and Analytical Center for Environmental Protection” under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the support of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan. International experts, including Olena Bura and Nicholas Smith, took part in the discussion.
The session moderator, IDC Vice President Andrey Beklemishev, outlined key areas for dialogue and cooperation. Askhat Kozhumov, Director General of the IAC EP, presented the implementation of AI analytics in environmental protection in collaboration with the IT company KazDevLab. Nazgul Bazhayeva, Director of the Department of Regional Digital Development (MAIDD RK), spoke about AI-based G2C projects, while Azamat Kauazov, Coordinator of the Central Asian Climate Information Platform, highlighted the capabilities of the Central Asian Climate Portal.
The session served as an effective platform for exchanging experience and developing approaches to strengthening cross-sectoral collaboration and advancing the sustainable development agenda in the region.
